ATHLETE PROFILE

Name: Siyanda Kopolo
Born: 09 August 1989

  • Siyanda was born Deaf in Umtata, Eastern Cape
  •  Attended St Thomas School for the Deaf in King Williams Town just outside East London in Eastern Cape;
  • Represented South Africa at the 1st World Deaf Football Championships held in Patra, Greece in July 2008 and was also vice Captain of the Team South Africa;
  • Represented South Africa at the 1st World Deaf Athletics Championships held in Izmir, Turkey in September 2008;
  • She also excels in netball, volleyball and table tennis;
  • She was elected to the Steering Committee for  Deaf Women in Sport in November 2008 whose mandate is to provide independent advice to South African Deaf Sports Federation on the priorities needed for the development and empowerment of Deaf women in sport;
  • Her ambition is to, one day, play an active leadership role within Deaf sport in South Africa and ultimately lead South African Deaf Sport Federation.



Terence Parkin at the end of the last stage,(Stage 5)  which he won!  
Overall Results .......(RSA)  Terence were placed 2nd, Based on daily points accumalated.
Results :   1st USA  Nick Schreiber,  2nd RSA Terence Parkin  3rd USA Trevor Kosa, 
4th  FRA & TWN    5th FRA David Cloux
